We wish to bring to your attention two critical updates impacting the global supply chain and maritime trade routes to Israel:
1. Far East to Israel Maritime Services – Suez Canal Transit Further to our previous advisory issued two weeks ago, please be advised that several shipping lines have resumed routing select vessels via the Suez Canal. At this stage, it is not possible to predict in advance which specific sailings will utilize this route, as carriers maintain strict confidentiality regarding transit schedules due to security protocols. Consequently, we urge you to take note of two major implications:
-
Marine Cargo Insurance Coverage: Please be strictly advised that standard marine insurance policies do not cover damages or losses resulting from war risks or hostilities occurring within the Suez Canal and Red Sea region.
-
Unforeseen Early Vessel Arrivals (ETA): Vessels transiting via the Suez Canal will experience significantly shorter transit times compared to the Cape of Good Hope route. This may result in vessels arriving at Israeli ports much earlier than initially scheduled, with minimal advance notice. Kindly prepare your import, customs clearance, and inland logistics operations accordingly to prevent port storage and demurrage charges.
2. Industrial Action at Italian Ports A national strike is scheduled to take place across ports in Italy on October 30, 2026. This labor disruption is expected to impact port operations and transshipment schedules, potentially causing delays in the arrival of feeder and mainline vessels bound for Israeli ports.
We are actively monitoring these developments around the clock and will continue to keep you informed of any changes affecting your shipments.
